My name is Mária Mirjam – Mária after my mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and possibly even my great-great-grandmother, though I haven't researched further. I chose and embraced the second name Mirjam. It is close to Mária, honors the female ancestral line, and connects with the legacy of my ancestors, while also bringing new, personal energies.

In this incarnation, I have been walking with the personality of the tarot Hermit (a Major Arcana personality card) for fifty years. Fate quickly took me from Eastern Slovakia to Bratislava, then to Germany and Austria for many years, with a brief stop in Iowa (USA), until I settled near Prague. In confronting constant changes, I soon realized that the external world offers no certainties. Everything is transient – situations, places, and people. I began searching for refuge within myself. Like the Hermit, I turned my attention inward – years of searching and today, finding my own Soul and within it Light, love, fulfillment, and faith. Tarot accompanies me on this journey. In its images and stories, I find a valuable interpreter who helps me become aware of the desires of my Soul and follow them.

The Hermit, in isolation from the busy world, in the silence of his solitude, discovers the Source of life within. The Light from which each of us arises and by which we can illuminate our path. The Source upon which we can lean. And the Hermit within me shines his lantern on the path, not only for himself but also for those who seek it.

You will not conquer darkness through fighting,

it is enough to simply shine the LIGHT.
